Refund policy
Section 1: Eligibility for Return or Exchange
For an item to be eligible for return or exchange, it must meet these criteria:
- It must be in its original, undamaged packaging.
- It should be unworn, unopened, and unused.
- The original labels must remain attached.
- You must provide the order number and invoice.
Section 2: 30-Day Return and Exchange Window
You have 30 days from the day you receive your item to request a return or exchange. Exchanges are not available after this period.
Section 3: Initiating a Return To initiate a return, please follow these steps:

- Your name
- Order number
- Description of the item you wish to return or exchange
- Reason for the return or exchange request
- Receive Return Instructions: After receiving your request, our customer support team will respond with detailed return instructions, including the returns address and, if necessary, a return authorization number or label.
Section 4: Responsibility for Delivery
You are responsible for ensuring that the package reaches Compass Marine within the designated return period and at the correct address.
Section 5: Return Shipping
Please note that return shipping costs are typically the responsibility of the customer. Contact us at info@compassmarine.co.za if you have questions about return shipping.
Section 6: Restocking Fee
A restocking fee of 10% of the purchase price may apply to returned items and will be deducted from the original purchase price.
The restocking fee covers the costs associated with processing returns, inspecting and repackaging returned items, and ensuring that they can be resold in like-new condition to other customers.
The restocking fee will be clearly communicated to you during the return process, and the exact amount will be specified in your refund confirmation.
Section 7: Items Not Eligible for Return
We cannot accept returns for the following:
- Items returned after 30 days from the delivery date.
- Items not in their original condition, or clearly tampered with or used.
- Non-returnable items (e.g., sale items, customized, or explicitly stated as non-refundable items).
- If you lack the invoice or order number.
- Products that have been opened, such as paint, boat cleaning products, liquids, and worn clothing.
Section 8: Exchanges
The quickest way to get the product you want is to return the item you have. Once the return is approved, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Section 9: Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt. If the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect, contact us immediately so that we can address the issue promptly.
Section 10: Non-Returnable Items
Certain items cannot be returned, including perishable goods, custom products, personal care items, and those explicitly stated as non-refundable. We also cannot accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases.
Section 11: Sale Items and Gift Cards
Unfortunately, we do not accept returns for sale items or gift cards.
Section 12: Cancellation Policy Cancellation Window:
You may cancel your order if your order has not been shipped yet, ensuring that you understand when this option is available.
To cancel an order, please follow these steps:

- Your name
- Order number
- Reason for the cancellation request
- Cancellation Confirmation: Our customer support team will respond to confirm the cancellation of your order. If the order has not yet shipped, you will receive a full refund. If the order has already shipped, please follow our standard return process upon receipt of the item.
Section 13: Refund Confirmation
Upon approval of your return and the successful processing of your refund, you will receive a refund confirmation email. This email will include details about the refund, including the date it was initiated and the expected time frame for the refund to appear in your account. If you do not receive the refund confirmation email within a reasonable period, please contact us at info@compassmarine.co.za for assistance.
Section 14: Alternative Resolution Options - Manufacturer Warranties
Some items may be covered by manufacturer warranties, providing additional protection and support. Please refer to the product documentation for warranty terms and how to make a claim. Manufacturer warranties may require direct communication with the manufacturer.
Section 15: Manufacturer Warranty Exclusions
Be aware that manufacturer warranties may have certain exclusions, such as damage caused by misuse, neglect, or unauthorized repairs. Review the warranty terms carefully to ensure your situation is covered.
